Beach Time

Olen Ray and I went up to Mimi's beach house the last week in June/first week in July. Steven was able to come on the weekends but had to go back to SC to work during the week. He had a new job and it was his first week so it worked out well that we were away. It made it easier on him (and us) to adjust to the new hours. It was our first long car ride and Olen Ray did pretty good. We made it there and back with only one stop to nurse and play. It was a 6 1/2 hour drive too, so we were very proud of him! The weather was nice during the trip so it worked out well to take breaks at rest areas. After he ate, we let him play on blanket to get some energy out. We had a great time playing in the pool, taking walks in the stroller around the neighborhood, and even checking out the beach. He was a pretty cute looking little baby floating around in his shades and hat. He LOVE to kick his feet in the pool. It was pretty fun to spend time with cousins Kyson and Sayla as well. We even set up a "redneck swimming pool" in the front yard on the beach house. Here are a ton of photos from the trip! I think I am going to have to add a few caption as well because there were some fun memories happening here.

And then there is this picture.  I was all smiles until he pooped!  Yes, it was the only time the whole week I decided not to put a swim diaper on him. He hadn't pooped while in the pool at all so I didn't think there was a chance.  Guess again!  He got me good! (Chrissy, tell Baldo McPoops that Olen Ray's poop is discussed on the blog too, so don't feel bad.)

Being a beach baby is hard work.  He really learned to take some nice long naps while we were at the beach.
