Sunday, two weeks ago, a huge thunderstorm hit with plenty of rain, thunder, and lightning. Steven and I walked down to the docks at the landing to see the bolts light up the sky and watch the kids play in the puddles between rain showers. It was the first big storm of the season and left it's mark behind with several small fires on Castle Peak. The strikes actually caught several trees on fire creating an orange glow around in several places as we stood on the docks. Most of them were out by evening, but a few continued through the week. Fire crew guys were brought in and even crews that repelled from helicopters to fight them. All are out now as far as people can see. Of course, today as I sit upstairs at the ranch since no one signed up for a ride, another storm has started and the rain is pounding on the roof. Such a beautiful sound...so relaxing.
Hey! Just a married couple living life in South Carolina hoping to share stories with family and friends. Have fun reading our blog and checking out the pictures!
Original Blog Purpose: We have decided to move to Stehekin, WA. A more appropriate title is probably an adventure or journey than just a move. So, we created this page to share our news and photos (which I am sure there will be a lot of) with our friends and family. It will be a little easier to keep in touch through the "net" as opposed to phones..oh wait, that is because there aren't any phones there!! We are super excited about this time we are going to have together, the things God is going to teach us, and the many stories we will have to share. Enjoy the photos and feel free to leave comments!
